COUNTY HOCKEY IN YNE

In YNE we run county hockey for boys and girls from U12s to U18s. We divide our region into 6 areas, Northumberland, Durham, Humber, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire. Each area runs trials and selects a squad for training, usually for U13s to U18s around September time, it can be a bit later for U12s. Each age group has 4 or 5 tournaments throughout the year. Many of these tournaments are held in Leeds but we do try to vary the venues to reduce the travel for some of the outlying areas.

The U15s and U18s qualify for a cross-over event against the North West region around Easter time.

Last year EH held their inaugural U14 state school County competition. Northumberland entered last year and plan to do again. A team from Yorkshire has also been entered. The competition will be held at Cambridge Uninversity on June 12^th 2027. Players must be U14, attend a state school and not be at a TA.
